Marina was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, where she received her degree in electrical engineering. When she moved to the US she had to quickly learn a new language, obtain new skills and get employed while adjusting to different life and customs.
For the past 20 years Marina worked at Harvard University, gradually progressing in the field of research and finance administration, advancing to a management position, and earning designation of Certified Research Administrator. She successfully developed junior team members for years.
